The Cuffe Bicentennial Committee established this website in order to provide a place for research and documentation about the lives of Cuff Slocum, Paul Cuffe, Michael Wainer, and their descendants and associates through the years.  The Committee consisted of: Lee Blake,  David Cole, Carl Cruz,  Richard Gifford, Bob Harding,  Jane Loos, Judy Lund, Geraldine Millham, Jenny O’Neill and Betty Slade.

Town of Westport historical documents: The original of the Paul Cuffe family documents resides in the New Bedford Public Library.  These were microfilmed many years ago but not digitized.  The files listed below (with a Table of Contents), are the digitized versions of all of the original papers and notes. Also available are documents from the New Bedford Whaling Museum
