Cuffe Personal and Family Papers

Paul Cuffe (1759-1817) was probably the most illustrious citizen of Westport, well known in his time, and remembered in several books and articles.

The manuscript collection, Cuffe Collection: Manuscript and printed material relating to Paul Cuffe, his relatives and friends resides in the holdings of the New Bedford Free Public Library. Access to this collection has been provided through earlier preservation microfilming of 661 items as inventoried by the Library (1969).

Courtesy of the New Bedford Free Public Library, the microfilm has been scanned and arranged in digital files by the Town of Westport, in advance of further archival processing by the Library.
